How sustainable wax is made?

Sustainable wax, such as Soy Wax, Beeswax, and palm wax is obtained through various processes. Here's how each type of sustainable wax is obtained:

Soy Wax. Soy wax is obtained from soybean oil, which is derived from the soybean plant, scientifically known as Glycine max. The process begins with the cultivation of soybeans, which are harvested when they reach maturity. The beans are then cleaned, dehulled, and crushed to extract their oil. This oil undergoes a process called hydrogenation, which converts it into a solid form suitable for candle-making. The result is a natural, renewable, and biodegradable wax that is favoured for its eco-friendly qualities, clean-burning properties, and ability to hold fragrances effectively. Soy wax has become a popular choice for candle production due to its sustainability and reduced environmental impact compared to petroleum-based paraffin wax.

Soy Farm

Beeswax. Beeswax is obtained through the careful and sustainable harvesting of honeycomb produced by honeybees. Beekeepers collect honeycombs from beehives, typically during honey-harvesting processes or regular hive management. The collected honeycomb is then cleaned and heated to separate the beeswax from the honey it contains. Once melted, the beeswax is carefully filtered to remove impurities, leaving behind the pure, natural beeswax. After filtration, it cools and solidifies into blocks or sheets, ready for use in various applications, including candle-making, skincare products, and more. This process ensures the eco-friendly and renewable sourcing of beeswax while supporting the well-being of bee colonies.

Palm Wax. Palm wax is obtained from the fruit of the oil palm tree, scientifically known as Elaeis guineensis. The process begins with the harvesting of ripe oil palm fruit bunches. The fruit is then mechanically or manually stripped from the bunches. The fruit's outer layer, known as the mesocarp, is removed, and the palm oil is extracted for various purposes. What remains is the palm kernel, which is crushed and processed to obtain palm kernel oil. The solid part of this oil, known as palm kernel stearin, can be further fractionated to produce palm wax. The wax is then refined and processed to create the final palm wax product, which is used in candles, cosmetics, and various industrial applications.
